Aged Care gardening in Craigieburn

A little help in the garden

Is your overgrown garden getting you down? If you’ve been an avid gardener, it can be hard to accept help. Sadly, it’s sometimes even harder to find help when you really need it.

Forget Me Not Gardening are committed to providing help with gardening for the aged in our community. We make it our mission to be reliable, respectful and affordable for those who need our help the most.

Aged Care gardening services we provide

Just because you’re older doesn’t mean your garden’s needs have changed. That’s why our aged care gardening services are the same as those we offer anybody else. We provide pensioners and seniors with:

Our services are flexible and can be tailored to your needs and budget. If there’s something we are unable to do ourselves, we will go out of our way to find a solution for you or your loved one.

How our services differ

Our business model is designed to make gardening services accessible for the aged. At the same time, we recognise that not everyone who needs help with gardening is elderly or on a pension. We offer affordable services for:

  • Low or single income families struggling to make ends meet
  • People waiting to be approved for income or aged care support
  • People with a disability, whether or not you are approved for NDIS gardening

We focus on what we CAN do for you, rather than what we can’t:

We are reliable

  • We let you know when we’re coming
  • We show up
  • If for some reason we are delayed, we call to let you know

We are respectful

  • We consult you before we get started
  • We’re open to any tips or preferences you have for work done in your garden
  • If you want to be involved, we’re happy to work with you, provided it is safe

We are affordable

  • We offer accessible rates, no questions asked
  • We look for ways to reduce costs
  • We keep overheads low with hand tools and electric equipment (this also means less noise!)

For us, gardening is more than just a business. Happy gardens make happy neighbourhoods. If you or a family member need help with lawn mowing or other gardening services, we’d love to hear from you.

Frequently asked questions

I have a Home Care Package - can you do my gardening?

Yes, we can provide gardening and lawn mowing services if you have a Home Care Package through My Aged Care. If you prefer, we can invoice your provider directly. Alternatively, you can pay us upfront and be reimbursed by your package. We are happy to give you a receipt.

Check with your Home Care Package provider to discuss the best way to claim our gardening services.

What does My Aged Care cover?

My Aged Care generally provides funding to help you stay independent in your home for as long as possible. Among the services offered is basic yard maintenance, such as lawn mowing, pruning and weeding.

How much gardening My Aged Care will cover depends on the type of funding you are allocated. Entry level funding gives you access to gardening from approved Aged Care providers. A Home Care Package gives you more flexibility to choose who does your gardening, and the services they can provide.

What is the difference between Home Support and Home Care Package gardening?

My Aged Care provides funding for two different types of gardening help:

  • Commonwealth Home Support Program. The government subsidises services, like gardening, through approved organisations. The entry level program allows older people to access basic services at a more affordable rate. There are usually limits on the frequency and type of services offered.

  • Home Care Packages. Funding for more complex care needs is provided as a Home Care Package. There are four levels of funding, each with their own budget. An approved provider of your choosing oversees the package. The provider then works with you to decide how the funds are spent, based on all your care needs. If the budget allows, then you may have more choice over the gardening your package can afford.

Is your garden feeling your age?

Even when things are good, it can be difficult to keep up with all the chores in the garden. Whether it’s lawn mowing, pulling some weeds or a little shrub trimming, we love to lend a hand. Call Forget Me Not Gardening on (03) 8313 5242 and tell us what you need.
